'Ochres' is a powerful performance piece by Australia's Bangarra Dance Theatre, a company acclaimed for its unique fusion of Indigenous and contemporary dance. Told in five parts, the piece was inspired by the special role ochre plays in Aboriginal ceremony. The dance begins with the spirit of ochre, followed by interpretations of the four essential colours: yellow, representing earth and women's issues; black, denoting men's business; and red and white, symbolising the Earth.
